Dr. Baroon Rai is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine. He is the medical director for the ICU/critical care department in Seton Medical Center.

He is very passionate about the care of critically ill patients. He strongly believes in the Intensivist model where the Intensivist "quarterbacks" the multi-disciplinary team for the complicated care of patients in the ICU who often have multi-organ dysfunction and require care from physicians across multiple specialties. He is actively involved in developing structured multi disciplinary rounds, writing protocols for ICUs, quality improvement projects, nursing education and also in many hospital wide policies including Rapid Response Call, Code Blue and Sepsis policies.
